USports Men’s National Volleyball Championships
From March 21-23, the BU Healthy Living Centre provided an electric atmosphere for fans and athletes alike, as teams from across the country battled through three days of high-stakes matches. The championship featured standout performances and intense rallies, culminating in a dramatic final victory for our hometown Bobcats. The tournament drew large crowds and intense energy, as the event marked a proud moment for Brandon. What a memorable national championship experience!
Archery Canada ASA Indoor National Championships
Also hosted in Brandon that weekend, the 2025 Archery Canada ASA Indoor Nationals brought together the nation’s best 3D archers for a weekend of precision, discipline, and competitive spirit at the Keystone Centre. The event followed the ASA format, featuring life-sized 3D targets in a controlled indoor setting that tested both technical skill and consistency under pressure. With archers from youth to seasoned divisions, the competition highlighted the depth and diversity of Canada’s archery talent. Brandon’s role as host city helped spotlight the sport’s growing popularity, while delivering a well-organized and memorable championship experience.
Brandon First Brand Refresh
In February 2025, Brandon First proudly unveiled its refreshed brand identity, reflecting a renewed commitment to promoting Brandon as a premier destination for events, tourism, and economic development. The updated look and messaging emphasize the city’s strengths—its welcoming community, exceptional facilities, and proven track record as a capable and enthusiastic host. With a vibrant new logo and modernized communications, the rebrand marks a strategic step forward in positioning Brandon on the national stage as a dynamic and adaptable host city for a wide range of events. Thank you to our stakeholder, Create Marketing, for your work on this new look!
Chamber of Commerce State of the City Luncheon with Mayor Fawcett
Brandon First was honoured to host the Brandon Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 State of the City Luncheon, featuring Mayor Jeff Fawcett as the keynote speaker. The event provided an engaging platform for discussing the city’s economic outlook, strategic priorities, and upcoming opportunities, including Brandon’s growing reputation in event tourism. With business leaders, community stakeholders, and elected officials in attendance, the luncheon was a valuable opportunity to showcase the collaborative spirit that drives Brandon’s development and to reinforce the city’s vision for sustainable growth and innovation.
Attendance at the Sport Tourism Canada Sport Events Congress
Brandon First’s participation in the 2025 Sport Tourism Canada Congress was a vital step in strengthening connections within the national sport tourism network. Engaging with industry leaders, event rights holders, and fellow destination marketers, the Brandon First team highlighted the city’s recent hosting successes and explored future bidding opportunities. We met with 10 National Sport Organizations during the event’s annual Sport Events Exchange in an 8 minute speed date format. Attending the Congress allowed for valuable knowledge sharing, trend analysis, and networking, all aimed at positioning Brandon as a competitive, capable, and enthusiastic host city for future Western Canadian, National and International sporting events.
