Brandon Emergency Services Conference

The 2025 Brandon Emergency Services Conference, held at the Keystone Centre from September 3–5, brought together firefighters, paramedics, emergency management professionals and other first-responder personnel from across Manitoba and beyond for three days of training and keynote speakers under the theme “Breaking Down Barriers.” In addition to the training and presentations, the conference featured a large trade show featuring the latest equipment, technology and services available to emergency services agencies. This event served as both a professional development forum and a community-building moment for the emergency response sector, helping to build capacity, streamline inter-agency relations and enhance responder well-being in the Brandon and Westman region.

Brandon First Attends CSAE National Conference “Momentum” in Victoria and Breakout West in Winnipeg

May be an image of textOnce again our staff at Brandon First had the opportunity to attend the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) National Conference, this year held in Victoria, BC, where association professionals from across the country came together to share ideas, insights, and best practices. The event was an inspiring experience that allowed our team to engage with industry leaders, attend informative sessions, and explore innovative strategies to strengthen our work in event attraction and destination development. We came away energized and full of new ideas to apply here in Brandon, as well as new connections that will help us continue positioning our city as a leading destination for meetings, conferences, and major events.

The event showcased the very best of Western Canada’s music and creative industries through a blend of conference programming, networking opportunities, and live performances. Being part of this vibrant event gave us valuable insights into how arts, culture, and entertainment can drive tourism and enhance the visitor experience as well as into the scope of hosting music industry events and awards shows. We returned to Brandon inspired by the creativity and collaboration we witnessed and are working with the Westman Live Arts Group to bring events like Break Out West to Brandon in the future!

2025 Night of Delight – Behind the Curtain

Our annual stakeholder appreciation event, Night of Delight, took place on October 9th, and it was truly an evening to remember. The night offered a unique peek behind the curtain of event hosting in Brandon, giving our stakeholders the chance to experience some of the incredible venues and partners that make our city shine. We began with an artist’s tour of the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium, complete with a green room of food and drinks in the Founders Room and karaoke on stage under the lights with a real sound crew.

From there, we headed to Weddings by Abby for a tour, snacks, and a bouquet-building contest, before wrapping up with a tour of the Roadhouse in the daylight and then enjoying food and drinks at The Tavern, provided by Canad Inns Destination Centre Brandon. Thanks also to Brandon Bus Lines for the expert coach driver and for keeping us comfortable from stop to stop throughout the evening.

We are so grateful to all our amazing hosts. Night of Delight is always one of our favorite traditions, a chance to celebrate and thank the incredible stakeholder and community partners who help make Brandon a premier destination for events and experiences. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Thank you to all of our funders and stakeholders. We could not continue to bring the best events to Brandon in the future if not for the generosity of our events and business community today.
