Brandon Wins Two Major Event Bids for 2023!

August 2023 will be a very busy time for Brandon as we host two major sport events the weekend of Aug 10-13.

The Softball Canada 2023 U15 National Girls’ Fastpitch Championships will take place at the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex. More than 20 teams from across Canada will travel to Brandon to compete in this tournament to determine the U15 Girls’ national champions. Look for an announcement to purchase tickets closer to the event. To support the Light the Way campaign to install the required lighting at the ANSC for this event, ensuring our ability to host top quality provincial, regional and national level softball events for years to come, please reach out to event co-chair Bruce Luebke.

That same weekend the Healthy Living Centre at Brandon University will host the 2023 Western Canadian Powerlifting Championships. Powerlifting consists of individual or combination competitions of bench press, squats and deadlifts. Local powerlifter Amanda Moffit will be one of the meet directors for this incredible high-level competition scheduled to take place over three days at the HLC.  We are excited to see top tier lifters from the four western provinces compete and to welcome athletes back to our city.

The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair Returns to Brandon

For the first time in two long, pandemic-ridden years, the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba was able to host it’s premier event, the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. In the 113 year history of the fair only the two World Wars and the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the Provincial Ex to cancel. We were so excited to see it’s return, and to be able to attend the event ourselves. Take a look at our photo album below to see all the fun and excitement of our Tuesday spent at the Royal.
